John Ash : As someone that purchased the r646 from best buy, I will say from actual experience yeah on paper the TV is better (brighter/more dimming zones) than the x90j but when actually comparing them sony XR chip does a damn good job and the algorithm to actually control the dimming zones is bar none plus sony handles the motion better than the r646, the r646 has some jutter. Also may I add my r646 has some serious Dolby vision issues probably software but none the less it look dim and washed out . My 75 tcl r646 had bad backlight bleed which causes screen uniformity issues a quick Google search will tell you this is a definite issue with the TCL 75 r646. Iv had my r646 for a week now and yeah I'm taking it back and getting the x90j it just looks good. Plus since I'm a Costco member there is a major plus and that is a 5 year warranty comes with the 75 x90j for $1600, if the panel was better on my r646 and I purchased a 5 year warranty through best it would be just as expensive as the sony 75 x90j. Anyways just my thoughts good luck with the 75 TCL r646.
Sensei's Protege : Man, your editing & accompanying price lists are so well done
the elusive meme : As much as I love the qn90a, it has an issue that hasnt been talked about. When having a really bright highlight like the sun or the moon in a game, if you look at it and pan the camera (causing the sun/moon to move across the dimming zones), the sun/moon will brighten up and dim back down. It basically becomes a strobe light if you pan it left to right. It can be quite immersion breaking and is pretty noticeable in open world games.
cms : The best deal is going to be on amazon if you have an amazon credit card. 10% cash back on the LG and Sony oleds

All competing TVs were 55 inches in screen size, and were calibrated in SDR and HDR modes to the common standards used within the film and broadcast industry, perceptually matched to the Sony X300. Thanks to Mr Maciej Koper who flew in from Poland to help with the calibrations.

All the TVs were masked, and their positions switched on shootout day, so the three calibrator judges (including Mr James Willmott who is a THX-certified video calibrator) didn't know which TV was which when scoring different picture attributes.

Many thanks to UK electrical retailer Crampton \u0026 Moore for supplying the TVs and the venue to make this year's shootout a reality under extremely challenging circumstances. If you'd like to buy any of the TVs we used in the shootout which have been calibrated by Maciej Koper or Vincent, please call David Conner, store manager at Crampton \u0026 Moore Leeds on 0113 244 6607 or email david.conner@cramptonandmoore.co.uk

Thanks to CYP Europe too for loaning an 8-way HDMI splitter and premium HDMI cables for the shootout. Here are the results:

Best Home Cinema TV: Panasonic JZ2000
Best Living Room TV: Sony A90J
Best Gaming TV: LG G1
Best TV of 2021: Sony A90J

Darius Derakhshan : I honestly expected the Panasonic to win but was interested to see that the Sony could beat it out, even if by a 1pt margin. Great shootout!
Semiotic Ghost : Would it be possible to share the scores for all TVs for each category? Would be helpful to know how close some of the matchings were for the TVs that didn't end up on top. Thanks for doing this shootout, sounds like an incredible amount of work, super appreciated.
Carlo Bighouse : Incredible review. You guys set the standard for what reviews should look like. Took every step you could think of to reduce bias and make a fair judgment. Bravo guys and thank you.
Lloyd Harvey : As a tv enthusiast I have never seen such an in depth review. Kudos for the time and effort this must have taken .
Outstanding content and advice.
Thank you
David Lantz : A full score breakdown would be super helpful since the costs and use cases are so very different for some of these models.

David V : Thank you for showing us these new products. I like the idea of the cutter out at the end of the manual stripper, most seem to be at the back and are not as useful. Too bad the automatic stripper adjustable stop is all plastic - won't last long in a tool pouch. Does the multimeter battery cover screw go directly into the plastic or is there a metal insert? Regards, David.
Marcel Kooiman : Dank je wel weer voor het delen van je kennis, de KWS-103 is een echte lifesaver zo te zien :))
Karl Fell : I am struggling to work out what trade the meter is aimed at. There are better meters out there at that price point and cheaper that don't have that ridiculous interface. Also confused why they would supply right angled leads for a bottom entry meter. I do like the look of the cable tools.
WavetableChannel : Almost all the time with these cheap meters the bar graph has the same update speed as the numbers, which makes no sense at all. Imo it's better not to have it in that case.
SV3IRG : Tony thanks for posting...have already buy from Lidl and Stanley automatic wire strip...nice quality both...the digital meter not yet...fluke braymen or other firm autorange say yes....the big mistake from Europe firms that carry technology to Chinese that copy all patents shell them cheap...not only China....
